Circular Dress Collaborative – Certified Listening Space

Circular Dress Collaborative is an award-winning sustainable fashion hub based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, and the newest business to join the Listening Spaces Network as a Certified Listening Space.

Established in August 2024, Circular Dress Collaborative operates as a social enterprise dedicated to promoting the circular economy through a unique combination of marketplace and educational initiatives. The organisation provides a welcoming space where people can buy, sell, repair, and repurpose high-quality pre-loved clothing, helping to reduce textile waste while encouraging more sustainable fashion choices.

With a strong focus on community, Circular Dress Collaborative also empowers local women through skill development, education, and employment opportunities, creating positive social and environmental impact across the region.

Their mission is to transform fashion consumption in Donegal by fostering a culture of reuse, repair, and sustainability. By inspiring more responsible shopping habits and extending the life of clothing, they are helping to build a greener future while strengthening the local community.

As a Certified Listening Space, Circular Dress Collaborative now supports and celebrates Irish independent music by creating an environment where customers can enjoy carefully curated playlists featuring local and emerging artists during their visit.

Circular Dress Collaborative is a fantastic example of how businesses can make a meaningful difference—supporting sustainability, community development, and the arts all under one roof. Their innovative model demonstrates how the circular economy can benefit both people and the planet, and serves as an inspiring example for communities across Ireland and beyond.

Sheila Clancy

Sheila Clancy is the founder of Circular Dress Collaborative, an award-winning social enterprise and the first consignment fashion shop of its kind in County Donegal. Passionate about sustainability and community development, Sheila established the Collaborative to champion the circular economy through the resale, repair, repurposing, and reuse of high-quality clothing.

Under her leadership, Circular Dress Collaborative has become much more than a fashion hub. It provides opportunities for education, skills development, and employment while encouraging people to make more sustainable choices and reduce textile waste. Sheila's vision is rooted in the belief that fashion can be a force for positive social and environmental change, helping to rebuild confidence, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact.

In recognition of this work, Circular Dress Collaborative received the 2024 Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC) Best Sustainable Practice Award, celebrating its outstanding contribution to sustainability and community wellbeing.

As a Certified Listening Space, Sheila continues to support local creativity by bringing Irish independent music into the heart of the Circular Dress Collaborative, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing both sustainable communities and local culture.
